Salted Caramel Brownies

Hey lovelies!

Since my Chocolate Cookies post was such a hit today I decided it was time to bake some more yummy treats. Today I opted for salted caramel brownies, these have caramel oozing out of them, before anybody thinks they looked under cooked! Haha, I promise they are supposed to look like that!!

You will need;

200g unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing
100g dark chocolate
100g milk chocolate
397g can carnation caramel - or you can make your own caramel like we did
1 tsp flaky sea salt, plus extra for the top
200g golden caster sugar
4 medium eggs, at room temperature
130g plain flour
50g cocoa powder

1. Pop your apron on and pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius(gas 4).Grease your tin with butter or greaseproof paper. Melt your butter in a pan, once it's all melted take it off the boil and add in your chocolate, allowing it to melt.

2. In a bowl, mix  175g of caramel with 1tsp of salt, place the rest in a bowl, in another bowl mix the rest of the caramel, eggs and sugar together.  Whack out your electric whizz and carefully whizz it all together. Once whisked add in the melted butter and chocolate. It starts to get very yummy here.

3.  In a NEW bowl mix together the flour cocoa and a pinch of salt. Then sift this onto the other mixture. Beat until smooth and doesn't taste floury, because we all know your going to lick the spoon as you go along;)

4. Pour half the mixture into the baking tray, then pour the left over caramel over the top. Now pour the rest of the mixture in and bobs your uncle there ready to bake.

5. This is optional but if you want to you can scatter some more sea salt over the top of them. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until they have a firm crust.

There you have it! Salted caramel brownies. These are super quick and easy to bake! Send me your pictures if you re-create these!

Race For Life 2015!

Hey beauts.

Those of you whom follow me on twitter will have seen me talking about my sister running the 5k race for life this year. Sophie is two years younger than me and decided to do this of her own back. The reason I am not running along side her is because she deserves this moment to shine. It was her idea and I don't want to jump on this acting like I had this lovely, thoughtful idea too. I wanted her to do something alone that everybody would remember.

Soph has been training hard for over a month, she's been running a mile every night and has pushed herself to make sure she does her best. Today Sophie ran for my nan, and my aunty Cath who unfortunately passed away last week:(.  Last night Sophie raised over £300 online and she has £50 worth of cash sponsors, so she's nearing more towards the £400 mark. I teared up when I saw her raise so much money. Cancer affects so many life's and my sister has spent hours baking cakes for cake sales and constantly sharing her link to help try and put as much money together to help those with cancer, and to find a cure.

I watched my sister run with my mum today(she needed an adult so my mum got roped in) and her best friend, she didn't stop once and she's not usually a runner... I saw her cross the finish line and you know when you are happy and sad and every other emotion under the sun? that was me. I cried more than once too.

Sophie did such a wonderful thing today and I'll be proud of her for this every day all day. I wanted to dedicate this post to my aunty Cath who wasn't able to see Sophie cross the finish line, even in pictures, because we will always love her and my sister did this today to make her proud.  Thank you to shoes who have took time to share my sisters link and help her raise so much money.

My sister completed the run in 36minutes. Well done to everyone who ran today.

I'm proud of you Soph.

Make-up Revolution Haul! *

Hello lovelies. The people over at makeup revolution were so generous and sent me some free bits to share with you guys! I will be creating some looks and reviews with these products once I've had a chance to play around with it all. When this arrived yesterday morning I was so excited and fell in love with it all instantly. (all opinions are my own)

I <3 my brows

The name of this product was quite misleading at first, I assumed it was a brow palette. However there's only two brow products and one wax on the end and the others are beautiful shimmery or matte shades of eye shadow. I would genuinely wear all of these, I experimented with some today and I am inlove with the olive green shade (3rd from the left)

Ultra Sculpt and Contour Kit

This contour kit is perfect! I was super excited for this when I saw it, this is in the shade Fair 01. All of these are the perfect shade for me and blend out so well! The bronzer is beautiful for contour and just an all over bronze, the highlight looks so beautiful and glowy on the skin.(I've already used it haha) Can you guys see the gold tint the blush has or is it just me? It has a tiny bit of shimmer but there's no massive chunks of glitter. This is  a winner.

Bulletproof eyebrow kit
This product I picked out myself because I was so intrigued by it. I struggle with my brows so much because they're so fair, barely any brow products work for me. This has four powders and two waxes, a creamy thing? I don't know what it is haha. I assume its a eyelid primer maybe? And a gorgeous highlighter. I really love the palette because it comes with an eyebrow pencil, a huge mirror, tweezers and two brushes! This would be perfect for travelling.

Brow Tint

I've never used a brow tint before but it looks so cool. I cant wait to play around with this soon! This is a little bit too dark for my brows, however I think once you've dabbed a tiny bit on the back of your hand and if you use a light hand with this then it could look quite nice. I hope this will look more natural than powders.

Lastly some brushes! They very kindly sent me there E104 eyebrow brush and their E102 eye shadow contour brush. These are so soft, I've already used the eyebrow brush with the bullet proof eyebrow palette. So far they're good'ens and pick up product easily. Hopefully they wash just as well! I'll let you guys know!

That's everything in todays haul! I hope you enjoyed todays post!

Beauty Issues

Hey beauts.

As a beauty blogger I've had my fair share of beauty mishaps and issues, and today I wanted to share some of them with you. I'm sure most of you will be able to relate.  From cakey under eye concealer to smashed concealers.

We all know the feeling when we apply our foundation in the bathroom and think the lightings amazing. But the second we step outside of the bathroom into different lighting its a whole other story..  However we only ever notice it when we're out in public.

Powdered products. No matter how careful and cautious I am they always smash. I've had endless powders smash and I haven't even dropped them.. I get them out my makeup bag and they're smashed into smithereens.

When you get so tired during a lesson and you decide to rub your eyes, forgetting that you put mascara on this morning. Or if you watch a film that you didn't expect to be sad, that becomes emotional very quickly and you haven't bothered with waterproof mascara.

Will somebody explain to me why within a few hours after shaving my legs, the hair grows back. Almost immediately. That smooth baby bottom feel doesn't even last two day.

*

When your hair becomes so frizzy due to rain that you want to cut it all off and have completely different hair texture. Even worse the flyway's that are uncontrollable and never stay where you want them.

*

'Creamy Eyeshadow' yeah, yeah.  Often when I'm in a rush I'll do my powder before eyeshadow without thinking and then I'm left with fall outs around my eyes and unwanted pigmented colourful lashes.

Healthier Snack Options

Hey lovelies.

I'm no expert when it comes to healthy eating and I cant give you any tips on dieting either. However recently I have changed up my snacking habit and have found some better alternatives to munch at when it comes to that time of day and we all get a little peckish.

Smoothies are amazing for snacks because they're tasty, and quick and easy to make. These fill me up for ages too. You can control what goes into them and make it to your exact taste which is great because it means that you control the amount of sugary or bad stuff that goes into them. One of my favourite recipes is;
A handful of frozen mixed berries
                                                                     1 banana
                                                                     A form of yoghurt
                                                                     3 mint leaves
                                                                     Coconut water
It tastes amazing I promise! Smoothies make a great quick breakfast too!
Let me know if you want a post dedicated to recipes.

I'm not really a fan of chocolate yoghurts or anything too sickly. However me and my mum discovered these in Tescos the other week and didn't think much of it when we put them in the basket. I ignored these for days when they were sat in the fridge and when I first tried one I became obsessed instantly. Smooth toffee is by far my favourite. I usually have these around 7'o'clock after dinner, if I'm hungry.

(ps that's not mould its the sticker I left it on..oops)

I used to love having cracker bread with hummus but that's become boring to me as it's all I'd ever eat. I've always been a lover of avocado and I mashed up some avocado and spread it like a paste over some cracker bread, now I'm hooked. This is the perfect 'after school' snack and it fills me up right up until I have dinner which is between 5-6.

Snack-a-jacks are back to being my favourite snack again. I went through a phase of loving caramel snack-a-jacks with peanut butter and banana on top. Around Easter I completely forgot about these and hadn't had them since until a two weeks ago. I'm currently loving caramel snack-a-jacks and there new ones chocolate chip. Admittedly they look gross, but they're so tasty.

Fruit seems like a pretty obvious snack but I always used to overlook it! I'd have it with breakfast and lunch, but when it came to snacks I forgot it even existed. My mums recently started placing a whole bowl of fruit on our dining room table which encourages all of us to pick it up as a snack.

Since reaching for these snacks over things like chocolate and biscuits I've started to feel much confident and healthier in my self. My skins looked so much better too. I've never been unhealthy when it comes to meals it was always snacks that were my problem.

I hope this helped you discover some healthier snacks!
