L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation | Review

Hey beauts.

Recently, I've been on the hunt for a high coverage foundation that won't cost me an arm and a leg, unlike my MAC prolong wear and Estee Lauder Double Wear.  Lately, I've seen a lot of adverts advertising the L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover foundation. Of course, being a lover of make-up I had to pick this up and try it out for myself.

This foundation is marketed as a "full coverage, matte, long wear and weightless foundation". Basically, the perfect foundation for me. What more could a girl with oily, acne prone skin want/need in a foundation? I've tried L'Oreals Infallible range before this foundation and I've loved the other foundations I've tried.

SHADES:
I have fair, pinkish under toned skin. I found it quite easy to find a shade that suited me perfectly. I am shade 12 Natural Rose. Now there is only five shades of this foundation available. Which is quite common for most drugstore foundations, however it has been done before when drugstore brands offer a much wider range of shades. This wasn't a problem for me, but if you have really dark skin then it might be.

PACKAGING & PRICE:
The packaging is slim and not too bulky. It's a squeezy tube foundation, which I don't have an issue with. In all honesty it just looks like most drugstore foundation packaging to me. so there isn't much to say on this front. This foundation costs £9.99, which in the grand scheme of things is on more on the pricey side for a drugstore foundation. They usually cost around the £7 mark. However, this is still really affordable and an absolute bargain.

APPLICATION:
I'm loyal to beauty sponges and always use them to apply my foundation, concealer and any other cream products. So naturally on first try of this foundation I used my beauty sponge. I was super impressed with how it blended and it still looked flawless even though I applied it with a beauty sponge that can often suck up some product. This for me made it a winner because I'm not a fan of how foundation looks when it's blended with a brush.

FORMULA:
The formula is moose like and thick. It isn't runny at all. When you squeeze this onto the back of your hand it feels like it would be quite heavy on the skin. However, it is not heavy on the skin at all! It is most definitely light weight and when I wear this I don't feel like I'm wearing makeup because it's so light. This isn't cakey either and is matte when you first initially put it on, but does become a little duey throughout the day. I would usually be annoyed at this as if a foundation claims to be matte, I expect it to stay matte. But I actually like the finish of this foundation after a few hours. Although it becomes duey it doesn't make my skin look as shiny and disco ball like as others have in the past. It actually gives a really love glow. Obviously I use a mattifying primer and a finishing powder, so this does help with the finish.

COVERAGE/HOW IT WEARS:
Now this foundation is marketed as high coverage, so I was super intrigued to see how actually high coverage this was. So when I first applied it I applied it on half my face only. I was taken back by how high coverage and flawless this is. It definitely doesn't lie on this front. However, I would say that this does make my skin look rather dull and doesn't brighten it. Which does result in me having to go a lil cray cray on the highlighting concealer, but that's not a problem.
Now on the long wearing front, I wouldn't recommend this as an all day foundation because I've worn this all day numerous times before. And by the time I come home the foundation has often come off around my nose and my hairline.  I wasn't surprised by this as my nose is oily and foundation rarely lasts around my nose. I keep this aside as my evening foundation as I find it wears best for a few hours instead of all day. This isn't really ideal as I was looking for a foundation to last all day but I'm still happy with it none the less.

TO CONCLUDE:
I'm super impressed with this foundation. L'Oreal are absolutely killing it with this Infallible range, this isn't my favourite in the range but is definitely up there with one of my favourite drugstore foundations. This is the perfect foundation if you're on a bit of a budget and still want to have a full coverage, flawless look. I definitely recommend this!

I hope you enjoyed this little review. Let me know your thoughts on this foundation if you've also tried it!

Style Picks♥

Hey beauts!

I'm super nervous about today's post because it's my first ever proper fashion post that I've ever done on here. I adore fashion and I enjoy it just as much as make-up, but I've always put off ever writing about it because I have never been the most body confident person, this made me really insecure when it came to taking fashion photos. However, today I decided to bite the bullet and pick out a few fashion pieces I have been loving recently. Please be nice about this post! I hope you like reading about all my favourite fashion bits at the moment. Also please bare in mind I had to take all these photos myself, and right before I did so my camera died so they were taken on an iPhone 6.

First up, a denim jacket! I'm an absolute sucker for denim jackets right now. This particular one is from Primark and was an absolute steal at £12! I got mine a few sizes up so it would be oversized as I love how this looks.I also love to roll the sleeves up a few times to make them 3/4 length so it doesn't completely drown me. I haven't yet been brave enough to try and style out double denim, one thing at a time. However, I have been loving wearing this over play-suits, little dresses and skirts! This has become an absolute staple in my spring/summer wardrobe.

I've posted various photos of this shirt across my social media and always get so many lovely compliments on it. This was a killer to photograph but I think the photos do it justice. This beautiful shirt is from Zara. This is a cropped, bat-wing shirt with the most beautiful embroidery ever. This is such amazing quality and is lightweight too, so perfect for this time of year. This is my go to shirt when someone hits you with that dreaded phrase "jeans and a nice top". Like what does that even mean?! So in most cases I throw this on with a pair of jeans and I'm good to go.

I've never been a hand bag kinda gal, I've always found them so frustrating and could never find one that suited my style. I was browsing ASOS right before Christmas when I stumbled across this rucksack from Aldo. The second I saw it, I knew it was the bag for me. I've always preferred rucksacks as they don't give you that awful shoulder ache. This one is so stylish and minimalist, but is still the perfect size for me to carry all the unnecessary junk around with me that I can't leave the house without.

Would you believe me if I told you these gorgeous boots were from Primark?! Yes I know, you wouldn't ever think it! I saw these in the store a few months back and fell in love instantly. I'm obsessed with the colour contrasts and the chunky heel. These are so comfortable to walk in! I love styling these with jeans or with skirts and tights. These are the perfect boots for a fancy meal if you don't fancy those uncomfortable killer heels that look perfect but cut your feet into pieces.

I saved the wackiest item for last of course! ROSE GOLD VANS?! These are definitely a love or hate item. I adore them. I own the original black and white vans, which I live and die in. But I decided I wanted a pair of shoes that were a little more out there that could add a little something to quite a plain and simple outfit. These do the job perfectly. I wear these with jeans, skirts or plain dresses and it just makes it look like you've made that little bit more effort with your outfit. And if you ask me that's a life saver if you find it so hard to make an effort everyday.

That's everything for today. I really hoped you enjoyed this post. I hope to do more with some help and hopefully make the photos look a lot prettier, but sometimes you just have to make do with what you have.

Let me know which was your favourite.

My Blogging Journey | 4 Years On

Hey beauts. Well this feels weird. I feel like for the last few months my blog has been something of the past and I just have't checked in here for ages. I won't lie, I've missed the little space like crazy. Life's become one heck of a roller coaster and it's been an emotional few months to say the least. I just haven't felt like opening up my laptop and writing up a post lately. I find myself forever apologising because of the lack of content. However, I can't pretend like this is the start of something new and there'll be loads of new content coming your way, because I'm sitting my GCSEs in under two months. Stressed doesn't even express how I feel.

However, today I decided to write up a little post about my blogs journey. In hope my blogging mojo will come back to me.

This year will be my fourth year of having a blog. I never imagined to still be loving it as much as  I did right at the beginning this far down the line. It's not been easy and there's been numerous times when I've wanted to sack it all in. When I first started my blog, once known as 'kieralouisex' I was just a twelve year old girl with a love for scented lip gloss and floral tops. Now here I am, almost 17 and owning more makeup than necessary and with a much better fashion sense, I hope. I've always had a huge passion for makeup and when I was younger I used to write all my own little stories in a note book. So I've always had a huge love for writing, A blog seemed like the perfect way for me to combine both passions.

The blogging industry is a tough one and it's so competitive. It's hard to make your blog stand out from others because there are so many amazing bloggers out there. This can be quite disheartening at times, you have knock backs quite a lot as a blogger. I always find myself comparing my blog to everyone else's, which often leaves me demotivated to blog at all. Over the last four years I've followed all the blogging trends and tried to fit in. I've noticed that this doesn't work for everyone. I think just doing you, is the best possible way to help your blog grow.

I used to be so shy and timid, especially around the topic of my blog. I absolutely hated when people bought up my blog and I'd cringe at the thought of people knowing about it. People used to take the mick, as they thought it was weird. This used to make me want to crawl into a hole and take down my blog. I eventually decided to put those thoughts to the back of my mind. I couldn't be happier that I did this because now I'm so proud of how far my blog has come. I'm now able to talk about my blog with a huge smile on my face and I no longer feel awkward when people in my personal life ask questions about it.

I won't lie I'm not quite sure how I've managed to come so far and how my blogs grown so much. I've worked with so many brands and met so many lovely people. When I first uploaded my very first blog post I never expected for anyone to ever recognise me, nor did I expect to have grown my own little following. I've 100% fallen in love with my blog and it's got a place in my heart forever. Here's to many more years of blogging and content being created.

I did all this myself.I created the banner myself, the layout myself. I don't copy others either. I write freely and my way. I don't try to write like a bigger blogger and take photos like another blogger, because what's the point in that?. People may as well not bother reading your blog if its identical to somebody else's. I try to make my blog as personal as possible. Of course I take post inspiration from others occasionally but other than my own sweat, tears and blood has gone into the making of every single post. I spend hours editing photos to perfection until I believe they are suitable. So far I have given my little blog a 110% every minute I'm logged on. I spend hours constantly promoting my blog on social media and putting it out there.

I am still a girl who writes about make-up. I have a hobby that I'm proud off. Times can be tough, I've had tears and numerous dramas because of my blog but it's all worth it.

Kiera Rambles... Self Love♥

Hello lovelies. It's been a while I know, but school's been hectic with exams and constant revision. However, today I'm back and starting a new little series called 'Kiera Rambles'. Since a lot of my most popular posts are my rambles or rants. I thought you guys would enjoy this little series, where I can talk about topics that I'm passionate about. Starting with self love/care - something I'm a huge advocate for.

Loving yourself is more important than loving anybody else. You are the one person guaranteed to always stick by your side and support yourself through the toughest moments. Sometimes we kick ourselves whilst we're down, or only ever pick out what we see as flaws and never allow ourselves to see the good. Loving yourself doesn't make you vain, it's sanity. I know how it feels when your anxiety creeps up on you and you want to curl up in bed forever, but that isn't always the answer. Here's some things that can hopefully help you to love or care for yourself...

1. Take A Long Nice Relaxing Bath

Light some candles, pour in plenty of bubbles and grab a book. There isn't much a bath can't fix to be honest. If you're feeling like shit then I can't recommend this enough. Switch of your phone, grab a book and relax. This gives you time to wind down and re-evaluate situations without social media influencing your thoughts. Taking time to yourself is one of the best ways to gain self love.

2.  Be Kind

I know a lot of you like me, has at some point had a lot of contempt for yourself and sometimes dislike yourself. It's easy to look in the mirror and only see what you hate, it takes a lot of courage to look in the mirror and tell yourself you look beautiful. I know whenever I get like this I question how I would feel if somebody else constantly picked out my flaws. Horrible. So why do it to yourself? All your flaws are beautiful and they make you, you.

3. De-Clutter

If my anxiety is particularly bad and my room's a mess, my mind just can't settle and I find myself feeling on edge. For me de-cluttering is such a big part of self care and can really help to lower my anxiety levels. Clear out your wardrobe, sort through your makeup or have a quick speed tidy around your room, These are such small things but help to make me feel organised and a lot less stressed.

4. Stop Comparing

You are who you are and comparing yourself to others won't make you feel any better. Everybody has flaws and that's OK. I used to look at my friends a lot and compare myself to them, but I used to find this made me feel a lot more less confident. You have to keep telling yourself that nobody is the same.

Hopefully this helps some of you to love yourselves more & be a lot more positive.
