Night time routine//Collab with Blythe Couldrdige

Hello everybody!

Today me and my step sister Blythe decided to collab together, for those of you who don't know Blythe has her own youtube channel which you can check out here. Blythe hasn't uploaded for a while due to GCSES however we have filmed a lot of videos together which she will be uploading soon.  Moving onto our night time routine;

On a night when I get in usually from a day of shopping I head straight upstairs and climb into something cosy and put my hair up into a messy bun if I haven't already.

Usually at this point my makeup is all smeared and my mascara is half way down my face so I take the Botanic toner from Boots to remove all my makeup and unclog my pores, to do this I take a cotton wool pad and run it all round my face.  After this I go in with my skin care routine which can vary.

The products we used were;

Beauty Formula Apricot scrub.
Nivea soothing cleanser for sensitive skin.
Cucumber facial wash.
Superdrug mud mask.
Nivea night cream.

I would like to point out we are not experts at skin care so this is just our personal way of doing things.

Once I have done my skincare I like to jump in the shower and well you know wash.. I usually spend about half an hour in the shower. Obviously afterwards I brush my teeth, sometimes I even do this in the shower because for some reason when I do I feel like I'm saving time, how I don't know.

After I have got out the shower I get back into my pyjamas and towel dry my hair, I hate blow drying my hair with a passion! When I think my hair is reasonably dry I like to use a argon oil on the ends of my hair as I think it really helps to revive my hair. My current favourite is the United argon oil from my local salon.

I walk across the hallway back to my room and throw back on my pyjamas and grab my laptop, phone and ipod. I spend about 45 minutes catching up on social media and watching Gossip Girl.
Eventually I log off everything and its time to go to sleep.

I'm not sure how I feel how about this post because its so different however I hope you enjoyed regardless.

Don't forget to check out Blythes video because she has put so much effort into it!

What's your night time routine?

Summer beauty tips and tricks | 2014

Hello everyone.

So its time of year again when we all get a bit sticky and makeup becomes a major problem as well does a lot of other things.. but to do help you from all your troubles I have created a post full of tips and tricks to help you all!

FOUNDATION
This summer ditch the foundation and go for something more subtle on your skin e.g. a tinted moisturiser my personal favourite is the Nivea Daily Essentials, this leaves your skin looking flawless but without the heaviness. Foundation is just a heavy unnecessary layer of makeup that clogs up your pores. In the summer it's always best to let your skin breathe.

BRIGHT COLOURS
If your into dark colours like black/brown then steer away this summer and welcome brighter colours into your wardrobe. I personally love pastels but that's just me! Start of slow and steady, welcome basics into your wardrobe first I'm not saying go for bright floral clothing just a pretty coloured top. If your not too sure then go for something that compliments your eyes!
This doesn't necessarily have to be clothing as such, nail varnish and makeup counts too!

PRIMER
If your worried about not wearing makeup and don't have a lot of confidence in your skin then why not settle for a primer? It blurs all your unwanted imperfections and evens out your skin tones whilst providing you  with SPF. Primer is a great way to feel confident in the summer..

WATER
Staying hydrated throughout the hot summer months is so super important! In the summer I aim to drink around 2litres of water a day!
If your fussy and hate drinking plain water then add some lemon or mint leaves to give it a flavour!
Mint water is my favourite, its super refreshing with ice cubes on a hot day

WATERPROOF MAKEUP
I know I am telling you to steer away from makeup this month but if you insist on wearing makeup then go for waterproof. There's nothing worse than going for a dip in the pool and returning back to the surface with panda eyes from where your mascara has smudged.
I havte waterproof makeup with a passion but it's kind of a lifesaver in the summer.

EYELASHES
When I am on holiday I tend to not have the time to reapply my makeup especially my mascara, I often find my eyelashes wont hold their curl so I take my eye lash curlers and heat them up using my hair dryer for about 10seconds this holds the curl for longer and therefore you don't need to worry about doing it more than once!

There my summer beauty tips and tricks, do you have any of your own?

Meeting Sabrina and finding the perfect nude lip//day in my life #1

Hello everybody.

I wanted to do a day in my life because today was such a lovely fun day!

I got up this morning and had a really chilled out morning with my mum watching some more gossip girl*current addiction*.

Once I had finally dragged myself up to my room I got ready for a day of shopping with my best friend Jenny. Basically my whole wardrobe ended up all over my bed and I ended up wearing leggings, baggy top and converse as usual.

Whilst I was shopping I found the perfect nude. Believe it or not its from Primark for £1!! Its such a beautiful plummy nude.

The photo doesn't do it justice at all.

So me and Jenny as usual popped into our local lush and stood there was Sabrina from lovelaughandmakeup. She was so easy to talk to and I felt like I knew her for years! I completely fan girled when I left the shop and this made my day!

I really wasn't prepared for this photo so yes I look gross. My arms don't look good at all, wish I put my kimono on for the photo, oh well!!!
Meeting Sabrina completely made my day eeekk. I'm still fangirling whilst writing this post!

Summer Holiday Bucket List

Hello everybody.

So I recently broke up from school for my summer holidays, which means I will be a lot more active on here.  I always seem to let my holidays waste away and I don't live them to the fullest. However this time I have written myself a bucket list of things to do so therefore my summer holidays will be filled with fun stuff and won't lead to me becoming a permanent couch potato.

STAYING ACTIVE;
I always feel like during the summer holidays my get fit regime goes out the window completely. This time though  I want to stay active and stick to being fit. I would really like to go for morning runs and an evening jog every day as running puts me in such a good mood. I do also want to stick to working out everyday and completing my 30day ab challenge.

BRIGHTON
I've only ever been to Brighton twice and its such a beautiful place that I would love go again. I really want to go for a walk down the lanes. I mostly want to walk across the beach as the sunset is falling as I think it would be such a beautiful sight.

BLOGGING
I am trying to make a pledge to blog more as I don't have any excuses now, with the exception of when I go on holiday. I would like to upload 3 or 4 times a week, but unfortunately this isn't always possible as sometimes I will be off doing my own thing.

CREATE A MEMORIES JAR
I have created so many memories throughout my lifetime but have never took the time to write them down and this is something I really want to get into the habit of doing. I want to be able to sit down and go through my memories with family and friends, remembering every single one and not saying 'oh I don't remember that' like I usually do.

SLEEP ON THE TRAMPOLINE/BUILD A FORT
This is something completely random but ever since I was little I have always wanted to camp out on my trampoline with my friends under the stars. I feel like this would be such a fun cute sleepover. If you don't know me then you might not know about my obsession with forts, I'm such a child at heart but the thought of a fort makes me so happy!

OMBRE MY HAIR
I cant explain how much I want to ombre my hair but I'm just too scared to do it. I take care of my hair so much and I couldn't bare it if it got really badly damaged. However this summer I want to semi-permanent ombre my hair a lilac/mint green, something different that represents my personality.

SKATEBOARDING
I love the idea of skateboarding and its right up my street, but I just cant seem to master it! Every time I attempt to skate I just end up on my bottom and give up. However this summer I want to learn to skate successfully and not fall of every time I try.

GO CAMPING AND MAKE SMORES
I love going camping its so much fun and something I honestly didn't think I would enjoy but I really do! Last time I went camping I made smores but I wasn't paying any attention so therefore I burnt a fair few but this summer I want to go camping again and make the perfect smores.

 GO UP NORTH
For those of you who don't know I live in south England but I am actually from north England and have a lot of my family up there. I don't get to see them often which is really hard for me and have sometimes gone years without seeing them. This summer I want to spend as much time up north as I can because they all mean so much to me and I miss them all!

That's my summer bucket list, what's yours?

Beach Fun//Camber Sands

Hello everybody.
The Saturday just gone I went for a little day trip to Camber Sands with my sister, mum and my mums friend Sureya. Despite the weather not being its best I still wanted to a post on my day because it was such a fun day out and we all had a lovely time. I personally think unplanned trips are the best!

I did take a lot more pictures but I only wanted to share a few of my favourites with you all.

I had such a good day and it proves you don't always need the beach to be sunny to have a swim and a enjoy yourself.

Clearing Up My Skin//July

Hello everybody.
As most of you may or may not know I really lack confidence when it comes to my skin. Its oily which causes me to break out quite frequently. I have tried so many different products for my oily skin but its an obstacle I just cannot seem to get through.

More to the point  todays post is sharing with you guys my journey to getting clearer skin. Each month I will be sharing with you guys new tips/products Ive found etc..

no makeup

DRINKING WATER

This is honestly something I cannot stress enough, Not only is drinking water amazing for your skin it does your body a whole lot of good too.  I never really uset to drink water and I was always quite dehydrated however recently I have been drinking around 2litres of water a day and I can honestly can my skin feels so good. I have seen a huge difference and I always feel a lot more awake too.

SKIN PRODUCTS

Using skin products can often scare some people as they don't know what products are right for them. I use to shy away from most skin products as I was scared of how my skin would react. However I asked for help at my local superdrug and they helped me find the products I needed.  I have found cleansers a great product for clearing up my skin.

MINIMUN MAKEUP
So far my skin has been a lot better with the odd break out here and there which can't be helped. One thing that I think has helped a lot is not wearing face makeup, only wearing concealer under my eyes and mascara. Foundation is a layer of product which is highly un needed after all it does is clog up your pores.

The contents of my makeup bag | July

Hello everybody!

Today I have a new post for you all where I share with you everything that has made its way into my makeup bag each month. Some months there may be more makeup than others.

This is a completely new addition to my makeup bag and I have only recently discovered this foundation. It's super light and feels weightless on my skin. I have loved wearing this, this month especially since I am in the middle of clearing up my skin therefore I haven't been wanting to use a heavy foundation. I really recommend this if you don't like heavy makeup.

You lot have seen this powder a million times before however its a product I just cant steer away from, its like it keeps calling me back..thats my excuse anyway.

You may or may not have seen this blusher before but can we all take a moment to take in its beauty.. Its such a beautiful summery combination and goes with my skin tone perfectly.

A primer is an essential in every girls makeup bag.. This is another new addition to my makeup and I have been enjoying using this so much. Its my new favourite primer at the moment.

This is the perfect all round palette which is perfect for any occasion..formal, party or even just a basic lazy day. Can you believe this palette cost me £4!! I am in love with this.

Plain old mascara... Its actually  a really good mascara! For the price of a £1 you cant go wrong.. it really defines, curls and lengthens your lashes!

Surprise, Surprise the collection concealer made its way into my makeup this month.. again like the powder it keeps calling me back. I honestly haven't found a concealer yet that even compares to this one.

So beautiful... this highlighter is my absolute favourite and I've been wearing this every day this month so far. I especially love using this on my brow bone and under my eyes to make me look more away.

I have a serious obsession with red lips at the moment and also they are really in at the moment! This lipstick actually used to be mums but she never wore it so she gave it to me which saved me from having to buy my own. I love wearing red lips with my curled hair as I loved the old vintage look.

There we have it, that's everything that snook its way into my makeup bag this month. I tried not to go on about each product too much.
Should I keep this as a monthly thing?

QOTD; Whats your favourite makeup product this month?

NOTD | Acrylics

Hello everybody!

I always get requests to do NOTD because apparently they give you ideas on how to fashion your own nails. Today I myself am fashioning beautiful beige acrylics from Primark for a £1!!
I am also wearing a coat of glitter on both of my accent nails.

I really love this nail look as I think it looks so pretty and super sophisticated.

I haven't had any trouble with these nails at all, ive only lost one nail whilst wearing these and it was no trouble to glue it back on.  There no hastle to put on, it only took me about five minutes and that included filing them down which was also super easy! I also think the glitter makes them look super pretty.

I hope this gave you some inspiration for you own nails!
Love, Kiera xx

Coffee and Sugar scrub | DIY

Hello everybody!

I have a little DIY for you all today, its super easy and quick! I'm going to be showing you how to make a Coffee and Sugar Scrub!

 YOU WILL NEED;
1mug of coffee
Half a mug of sugar-mores optional
3-4 drops of an oil of your choice

Mix all the ingredients into a bowl/container together making sure the oil has been evenly spread.
There you have it!
It really is as simple as that.
Now place your scrub into a container and pop it in your bathroom ready to use!

In case you were wondering why you use oil its for the moisture. Once you have applied this and scrubbed and washed it off, the oil will leave your skin feeling super moisturised. I personally like to lose Coconut oil however you can use any oil you wish too.

I hope you enjoyed todays post and it gave you an idea on how to make your own scrub!

Love, Kiera xx

How to; Clean your make up brushes.

Hello everybody- Today I have a highly requested post for you all.

I may or may not be a procrastinator when it comes to some things. Cleaning my makeup brushes is definitely one of those things. It's not really even a huge process since I don't have that many brushes but every time I think about doing it, I'm like, "Ehhh. It can wait until tomorrow. I don't use them that much and surely there not that dirty..." Repeat mantra every day and a whole month has flown by. No bueno.

In reality, brushes contain so much leftover makeup, dirt and bacteria that can sit in them and cause nasty break outs and clogged pores if not cleaned on a regular basis.

YOU WILL NEED;
A bowl of lukewarm water
A bottle of baby shampoo
A clean cloth
Olive oil(optional)
Your dirty brushes
  1. Begin by taking a bowl of lukewarm water and adding a squirt of baby shampoo, if you want to also condition your brushes you can add a squirt of olive oil too!
  2. Gently swirl your brush tip in the water. If you need to, you may also swirl the brush in the palm of your hand to work up a lather, I always do but you can skip this step if you wish!
  3. Rinse the brush tip under running water so you are not using the dirty water to finish off with. Repeat steps two and three until all the makeup is removed from your brushs.
  4. Use a cloth to wipe your brush clean, reshaping the bristles as you go.
 5. Lay your brushes onto your cloth to dry, I usually fold one side of my cloth up so my brushes tilt downwards so it becomes easier for them to dry quicker!

That's how I clean my make up brushes, how do you clean yours?
I hope this helped those of you who weren't sure on how to clean your brushes! Or even just gave you a couple of tips.
