The Christmas Tag♥

Hey lovelies, en-light of Christmas being nine days away I thought it would be the perfect time to do the Christmas Tag! Throwback to when tags were the ' in thing ' , I thought this one would be super fun to do especially as it's Christmas themed. Also I'll admit it's a bit of a lazy post if I'm honest but it's still something, right?

NOT MY OWN PHOTO - TAKEN FROM PINTEREST
1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?

If you're like me and bloody love Christmas, then you'll know that over the festive period you end up watching a fair few Christmas films, making this question soooo difficult. This being said nothing beats Home Alone, this film is an all rounder for me. It's had me in fits of laughter, tears streaming down my face and also moments of 'this film sums up how weird my family is' too. I have the box set of all the Home Alones, but 1 and 2 are by far the best. All this aside, who doesn't love Elf? I could honestly recite a fair few quotes from this film to you, one of my favourites being ' there's room for everyone on the nice list'. Of course the Grinch and Love Actually are up there too.

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?

Me and my family have this tradition, that every Christmas Eve we receive a 'Christmas Eve box' which inside usually contains; Christmas themed pj's, a bath product of some sort - usually a bath-bomb, a Christmas film and a whole lot of chocolate. But, the rest of the gifts remain until the morning. I'll admit these are usually opened whilst eating the box of celebrations or biscuits in place of breakfast. Who has time to eat breakfast on Christmas morning?! Not me. The excitement is too much, I'm such a kid when it comes to Christmas. I know you are too.

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?

Ooo this is a tough one - I have so many. I think my most loved memory is when me and my sister were younger, and we'd wake up super early to open our stockings together snuggled up in my bed. Usually at a ridiculous time of morning, like five am. I know. Why so early. Then we'd run into our parents room, jumping about excitedly because we were so eager to go downstairs and see what Santa had bought. This still happens know in all honesty haha.

4. Favourite festive food?

You must be joking if you think I can name only ONE food that I love to indulge in around this time of year. I want all the food, all of it. Oh, but you can keep the sprouts. Do you know what I do love, a Terry's Chocolate Orange. I could do with one of those right now.

5. Favourite Christmas gift?

When you're a child, I personally think everything is so much more exciting. I used to be so happy with every gift I received.  So this made choosing a favourite, very hard. However, I think it might have to have been my Littlest Pet Shops. Who remembers those?! I was so obsessed and I used to collect them like a mad woman.

6. Favourite Christmas scent?

Gingerbread, I don't even have to think about this. Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you that around this time of year I become obsessed with the scent. I have a gingerbread room diffuser and I also find myself drinking one too many gingerbread lattes. I just love it soooo much.

7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?

My family don't really class this as a tradition but every Christmas Eve, we hand out our Christmas Eve boxes and then we usually snuggle up, binge watching all the Christmas TV on offer and of course films too. Mum usually likes to make hot chocolates too. This helps us to feel super festive and get us ready for Christmas Day.

8. What tops your tree?

An angle, we've always had an angel. I don't know why in all honesty, we've had the same angel on top of our tree for as long as I can remember. And if I'm honest I wouldn't be too fussed if one year my mum switched it up and put a star on top. I just don't really have a personal preference.

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?

I don't remember asking for anything too wacky - I probably asked for a weird toy at one point that was probably a load of rubbish. However, I can't pin point anything as extremely out there.

10. What's the best part about Christmas for you?

I love Christmas Day, but it always seem to be over in a flash. For me it would have to be the build up, I love the Christmas shopping, all the music, films and food. I also love how everyone is always in such high spirits and the cute fairy lights along side eyeing up all the new beautiful makeup sets. The build up is just so magical and is what I look forward to most, I mean come on you get a piece of chocolate everyday?! Who isn't excited for that!

Five Ways to Wind Down | Winter Edition♥

Hey lovelies.

Sleep to me is kind of a big deal, like most people if I don't get enough sleep I'll wake up the next day feeling super cranky. In which causes me to snap at almost anybody who crosses my path, apologies. This also causes me to come home from school and nap for hours, which then just completely messes up my sleep pattern altogether.

Recently I've noticed the importance of taking some 'you' time to just chill out and wind down, this means not sitting up stalking ASOS's website until you literally can't keep your eyes open. I've found myself a little routine which helps me to shut off, without further or do...

Check out this easy DIY tutorial to add some inspiration to your home at http://dropdeadgorgeousdaily.com/2015/05/lyric-wall-art-tutorial-ddg-diy/:

Switching off -
I don't just mean your brain. By this I mean switching off your phone, restraining yourself from watching Netflix into the early hours of the morning. Put all the screens down, I promise by doing so you will see a huge benefit. I personally like to put them away about an hour, to half an hour before I plan on sleeping. This way my brain can shut off and won't be left wandering for hours. This is probably the main reason why you're laid awake at night frustrated, cursing about how you can't just drift off like everyone else.

Read a book -
I honestly can't recommend this enough, if you don't already, read before you go to bed. This helps me sleep so much, and also helps my brain to shut off. By doing so, it also means that I forget about anything that may have been bothering me, or had been playing on my mind during the day. This is so much more beneficial than reading your twitter feed, as I'm sure some of you will know this can sometimes just piss you off even more.

Have a soak -
Is there anything a bubble bath can't fix? I'm up for a bath any time of the day, any time of the year. Whether it be to help with stress, bad period cramps, or just to help me dose off that little bit easier. I'm hardly going to turn down a nice long soak in a bath full to the brim with bubbles, surrounded by candles. This more than likely solves any problem your having.

Getting cosy -
This one might seem pretty obvious. However, when I want to wind down I absolutely love too light some candles, turn on the fire and grab a huge cuddly blanket, and just chill the fuck out. At this point, I restrict myself from replying to any emails, or even just glancing at them.  I stop doing any work around 8pm and I call this my 'me time'. I usually like to make myself a cup of herbal tea at this time too, and drink this whilst again giving my read a book.

Cleanse, Detox & Face mask -
I'm all for a skincare routine on a night. I love nothing more than taking off my makeup, giving my skin a good old clean, and popping on a face mask. To me, there's nothing more relaxing than sitting with a face mask on drinking a warm cup of tea. Personally, I just find giving yourself a little pamper the ultimate way to wind down for the night.

These are my favourite things to do when I wanna chill out and wind down, what are yours??

Five Red Lips for The Party Season♥

Hey lovelies.

With Christmas around the corner and parties in full swing, I know all you girls are rummaging through your makeup bag in order to find a gorgeous red lip to rock. I know the struggles of trying to find one, that doesn't slide all over the place, looks beautiful and matte without feeling heavy or drying.

To give you girls a hand I decided to compile together, five red lipsticks that will do the perfect job this party season;

1. MAC Ruby Woo - The perfect matte shade for party season. This is such a gorgeous shade of red and looks beautiful on almost any shade of skin. If you associate yourself with beauty/makeup and still haven't got round to trying this - then what are you doing?!

2. Rimmel London, Kate Moss 107 - This lipstick is perfect. And by far my fave. I rave about this every year, and it's always my go to for any festive event. Everyone has raved about this lipstick at one point in their time of loving makeup. This lipstick is also incredibly affordable too.

3. Chanel Rouge, Pirate - This is a gorgeous blue toned lipstick. This is a little more on the pricey side, however looks beautiful when paired with a glowy makeup look.

4. Charlotte Tilbury - Another luxurious lippy but this one's absolutely stunning. You could use this as a little excuse to treat yourself to an early Christmas present, so your makeup looks gorgeous. This colour suits all, and is super pigmented.

5. Nars, Heatwave -  Admittedly this is a little on the more orange toned side, however it is still perfect for this time of year. Maybe you're not wanting something that looks so heavy on the lips and a little more light. This is gorgeously matte and works with dark skin.

Those are just five of the gorgeous red lip shades out there, hopefully this gave you girls an idea on which lipstick to rock this year. I hope you found this useful. More festive posts are on their way!

Autumn Make-up Routine♥

Hey lovelies. Since autumn has finally arrived I decided it was time I switched up my make-up routine. Swapping the pink toned lipsticks for deep berry shades. I switch up my makeup the same way I do my wardrobe. I thought it would be fun to share with you all the products  I use throughout autumn/winter time.

BASE-
To prime my face, I always use my Mac Fix+ spray. I wait for this to settle in before going in with the main base of my make-up.  Recently my skin's been a lot better *touch wood it doesn't now break out awfully* this means I've been able to wear Maybelline's dream BB Fresh BB cream. I love this BB cream because it even outs my skin tone and gives my skin a gorgeous healthy glow. Obviously, this isn't the most high coverage product so it does mean I do have to go over any blemishes with concealer, which I don't mind. I always use the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. Once I've gone over the areas that need a little extra coverage my makeup finally looks more medium coverage. In order to set my makeup, this product will come as no surprise to you but I always opt for my Rimmel London Stay Matte powder.

CONTOUR-
I've been so excited to share my current contour products with you because I was luckily enough to get my hands on the Anastasia Cream Contour Kit and I've been absolutely loving it. I use this to highlight and contour the obvious parts of my face. I will be doing a full review and routine using this soon, so keep an eye out for that. To bronze my face and make my face less of a ghost I use the Hoola Bronzer . In order to highlight and give myself a gorgeous glow I use two products that work perfectly together. I start of by highlighting certain points of my face using Benefits High Beam liquid highlighter, I use this as a primer for my highlight. This also allows my highlight to look more pigmented. Then over the top of that I go in with MAC's Soft & Gentle highlighter. This is my absolute go to highlighter.

EYES-
For eyes, I love using coppery/golden shades as I find these bring out blue eyes. They also really remind me of autumn. The shadow I have been using all over my lid recently has been Max Factor mono effect eye shadow in golden bronze. This is such a gorgeous shimmery shadow. I put a tiny bit of Hoola Bronzer in my crease to add some definition to my eye shadow. I want the main focus of my eyes to be the golden shimmer, so I keep my eyeliner simple. I go in with Soap and Glory Super Cat liner and line my upper lash line to make my lashes look thicker and longer. For mascara I'm never really to picky with my mascara so I usually just pull out one that take's my fancy on that particular day. However recently I've been using Smashbox's full exposure mascara and I love it!

BROWS-
For my brows I don't do anything fancy. I simply fill them in with Benefit's Goof Proof brow pencil. I've spoken about this before and already given it my praises. To set them I use MAC prolong wear brow gel. This allows my brows to stay in shape all day.

LIPS-
This is my favourite part of my whole makeup routine. If you're into makeup you have most likely heard of Rimmel London Kate Moss 107. I absolutely love this lip colour, it's a deep berry shade and makes me feel so frickin' autumnal and very excited for Christmas. Although once this has smudged, it instantly becomes an awful makeup day.

That's my Autumn Make-up Routine. What shade of lipstick are you currently loving?

The end result, on a semi good makeup day!

A Season of Falling Leaves♥

Hey lovelies.

October is here! Excuse me whilst I get out the fairy lights, light the gingerbread scented candles and carve my pumpkin. If you can't tell this is my favourite time of year!! It's that time of year when the leaves begin to fall from the trees, and the days become shorter with much colder nights, perfect to be snuggled up under a blanket with a mug of tea. I also love those mornings when the suns shining but there's a cool breeze in the air. In spirit of my excitement for these autumn days, I thought I would share a little post of everything I love about this time of year.

Halloween -
Gone are the days of dressing up as a witch or as a pumpkin with my face looking like I've just dunked it in a bowl of bolognese. Also no more trick or treating, so I have to buy myself the goodies now, this kind of sucks. I adore creating fun Halloween make up looks now a days and decorating my room with fairy lights. Yes, at 16 I still love to carve a pumpkin, not always the most successful and I do always tend to go for the bob standard face with razor sharp teeth. But I love it none the less.

Cold Evenings -
Hello fluffy blankets and warm mugs of hot chocolate. Finally there is no more uncomfortable sweating on a night with the irritating sound of the fan in the background. Autumn is my favourite time of year to really get stuck into a good book, all you need is some candles lit and a snuggly blanket, then you're good to go. It's all the perfect time to throw on your big winter coat and boots, and go for long autumnal walks.

Gingerbread Lattes -
I'll hold my hands up now and  admit that I do not like pumpkin spice lattes. I know around this time of year everyone starts getting excited and it's all everyone orders from Starbucks, but as much as I try to like them, I can't, However, instead I absolutely love gingerbread lattes this time of year. My mum has now started to buy the sachets too, so I don't have to walk to get myself one. And the sachets actually taste pretty good too.

Blanket Forts -
You know when you have friends round and you just want to watch films all snuggled up? Well sometimes the sofa just doesn't cut it. Grab as many blankets and pillows as you can, and just lay it out all cosy and throw some fairy lights on. I love doing this and grabbing some food to watch a movie.

Bonfire Night & Roasting Marshmallows -
I almost forgot to include this. Bonfire night is one of my favourite nights in Autumn, standing around a fire and drinking mould wine with family and friends. I love doing this because I'm that person that loves the smell of smoke from fires, and blown out candles too. Why hasn't this scent been made into a candle yet?! Also roasted marshmallows. Need I say much more. They just taste great, and they're cute too. I always roast marshmallows and then put it between two chocolate digestive biscuits. If you haven't tried this yet, try it. Thank me later.

That's just a few things that I love about autumn, I didn't want to bore you with loads! What do you love about autumn?

Love autumn, love Alys:

Periods, Tears & Chocolates

Hey lovelies!

So my blog post ' Boyfriends, Exes & Heartbreak ' received a lot of love and so many of you wanted me to do more posts like it, because you could relate to them. I enjoyed writing it up so much I've decided to write another, Today we're talking about that time of the month. The tears. And that whole box of chocolates you ate the other night, but we'll keep that between us. And also how bloody beautiful your body is.

Image result for positive quotes

Every girl dreads that time of the month, the seven days of pain, sometimes excruciating pain if you're unlucky like me. Not forgetting that you have to rock the classic granny pants for the week, forget wearing your Victoria Secret underwear. This is the time to indulge in food, because lets face it your periods already made you bloated so the rest of the chocolates won't hurt, right? Oh I know how you feel when you say you just want to curl into a ball and be alone because if you're forced into a social situation you will most likely snap someones head off. This doesn't mean that if we're snappy with you boys we're having a period. We do just have general shitty days when we're off our periods too. And I will tell you know if you say to a girl ' jhz someones on their period ' I kid you not, you have just pissed her right off. Just don't do it. I know when it's my time of the month, the best thing for me is to run myself a hot bubble bath and shut off from the world for a bit.

Girls are known for being emotional, but it doesn't make you weak or unstable. We all have those days when we just want to cry out our emotions, with no actual reason to be crying. Sometimes the smallest comment can leave us in tears. Don't worry I feel you. I usually let myself cry instead of holding the tears back because the more you hold the emotion in, the more it builds up. It's okay to cry, you'll probably sit and cry for a little while but then you'll wake up the next morning and won't even think anything of it. Never feel stupid if you want to ask for help or want somebody to comfort you, because if they really care they'd be there for you no matter what.

I love food. Something I'm sure a lot of you can relate too. Half of my money goes on food. I don't regret any of it. Yet I'm always still hungry. Like most other young girls or women I worry about my weight, how others look at me and I'm always upset about how I don't have the 'perfect figure'. But do you know what, if you want to get a McDonalds, treat yourself. Stop worrying about if you'l be judged. This summer I decided to ditch all these negative thoughts and think more positively. You won't get anywhere by staring at yourself in the mirror and picking apart your body. Who cares what others think of you. If they can't see past how much you weigh, then they're not worth the time of day. You should feel comfortable with your body no matter how big or small you are, because you're you. And that makes you so beautiful, and always remember there isn't anybody like you in this world. You're your own person. You shouldn't spend all your time worrying about whether or not you're fat or if whether or not people find you attractive because you have stretch marks. I don't understand why so many young girls and women are ashamed of their stretch marks?! They're beautiful. So many mums wear their stretch marks with pride as a result of carrying their child. Just because you gained yours from puberty doesn't mean they become gross or ugly. Confidence is such a beautiful characteristic to have, you should be confident and not feel ashamed of loving of your body. You go girl. You rock that dress and heels.

Boyfriends, Exes & Heartbreak

Hey beauts.

I really felt like a ramble today, I have other posts already wrote up and ready to be uploaded. But today I felt like uploading something a little more chatty, something you girls can really relate too. It's also currently around midnight on Saturday night / Sunday morning, and I find sometimes my rambling comes out best late at night. Anyway, moving on, you guessed it of course the topic is boys. Something a lot of you gorgeous girls I'm sure centre a lot of your time around, I do too don't worry.

Growing up as a huge Disney fan I've seen all the Disney classics, all featuring the famous true loves kiss. No awkward first dates or late night tears, one kiss and it's happy ever after. Pfft in our dreams. As a young girl I grew up believing all of Disney's classic films stories. I couldn't wait for the day my prince charming came along, whisking me away into the sunset. I wanted the fairy tale wedding and a one true love. Reality check - it's not that simple honestly I wish it was. Something a lot of us girls I'm sure have learned already.

Boyfriends are amazing, don't get me wrong I'm not here to slate and shame all boyfriends. I have a boyfriend and I love him to pieces, I wouldn't change him for the world. Before Henry I had a few car crash relationships, that definitely weren't a fairy tale. But I've taken a lot away from this and learnt a lot about boys. I had never felt the need to have a boyfriend up until secondary school when I was around 13 and got my first proper crush on a boy. He didn't like me back, nothing blossomed from this crush but I wasn't too bothered by this. Ever since this crush though I felt the urge to have a boyfriend. Like they were a brand new limited edition MAC lipstick - I had to get one ASAP before they were out of stock. I didn't seem to understand that I have my whole life ahead of me and the time will come. I strongly believe that good things do come to those who wait. There isn't much point having a boyfriend just for all the novelty bits. They're great but it's those moments when you can't stop laughing for hours on end together, or when you can sit in silence just appreciating each others company that makes being with someone you love really special. Not so you can go around captioning photos of you and him 'goals' if there isn't anything special there. Don't begin to worry yourself if you're sat there watching all your friends getting into relationships, meanwhile you sit at the other end of the table fifth wheeling. It just means somebody whose bound to put a huge warm smile on your face will come into your life eventually.

Have you ever bumped into an ex and had to make awkward small talk? Yep me too. After breaking up with my ex boyfriend on his terms, I became that ex girlfriend who was always checking his instagram to see which new girl he had wrapped round his arms. I think we've all been there, when you can't stand to see your ex happy and moving on, meanwhile you're still sat eating Ben & Jerrys straight from the tub sobbing your heart out. I feel you. It hurts when you think it's only you that care or you're the only one hurting. Boys can often hide it very well though, they don't always show the sensitive side. Don't give them the satisfaction of knowing they've broke you, or hurt you a lot. If you see them in the street walk past them with your head held high and a sassy strut. You've got this. If you let him know he's got to you, when the going gets tough for him he'll come crawling back. He'll assume you're still madly in ;love with him. But then you can be the one to tell him no.

Perhaps everyone needs to experience heartbreak to break their heart open to feel other things. Nobody said it was easy. It will hurt and you'll be a hysterical mess for a good week or two. Be gentle with yourself. Don't be mad at yourself for hurting, you are definitely not alone beautiful. I'm not a relationship expert and by no means are we all the same. This is just what I've learnt from my experiences so far.

" Never love anybody who treats you like you're ordinary" - Oscar Wilde

I'll hopefully be doing a lot more posts like this one, talking about girly situations and how to handle them, if you want me too that is!

My Favourite Drugstore Makeup

As a beauty blogger I'll use every excuse I can think of to buy new makeup, even though I just simply don't have the room for it. I have an addiction and I'm cramming as much into my drawers as possible. I own a range of drugstore and high end makeup, I differ between the two a lot. However, there are certain things from the drugstore that work better for me than any higher ends brands, vice versa. Today I thought I would share my favourite drugstore products with you all for those of you who may be on a budget or just starting out with makeup and don't want to spend a fortune! You'll be surprised what little gems can be found hidden within the shelves of Boots or Superdrug!

Starting with the base as always. I found choosing a favourite drugstore foundation much harder than I expected, just proves how many amazing foundations the drugstore have to offer. I'm a huge lover of Rimmel Londons foundations, this being said recently I've been reaching towards the L'Oreal True Match. This foundation had a lot of hype around it a couple of years ago, I only tried it for the first time last year and I reach for it quite a lot when I'm not using my Estee Lauder Double Wear. This foundation is medium to high coverage and makes your skin look flawless, it gives your skin a gorgeous glow when the light hits your face. It's duey without being oily, and it lasts all day with or without a primer.

I'm all for contouring and highlight - my favourite part of my makeup routine! So this makes me extra picky about the products I use. If you're a fair skin girl like me then you'll know what I mean when I say sometimes contour products can make me look 'muddy' especially the cheaper ones. I used to only use Benefits Hoola Bronzer, but after using it for years on end and getting a little fed up of always paying out so much for it, I went on a hunt for a drugstore dupe! Now I couldn't find a dupe of Hoola, but I did discover the Sleek contour kit, and it's fab! I have mine in shade light and it matches my skin tone perfectly! It comes with the perfect contouring shade and a beautiful highlighter that reflects beautifully under the light. It has a lot of shimmer and is a gorgeous champagne colour. I've been using this contour kit for months now and it's my go to every day product for contouring. A quick makeup tip - this contour shade works perfect as a crease colour! You might be surprised that in fact a lot of bronzers work amazingly for this!

Moving on to brows. Now I'm not sure if this is cheating because I class Benefit as a drugstore brand as well as high end, but I thought I'd throw it in here anyway. You may have seen this product popping up on my blog a lot recently. Benefit recently released a lot of new brow products and one of them was the Goof Proof Brow Pencil - I've spoke about it before so I won't go into too much detail. To sum things up it's frickin' amazing. It makes filling and shaping your eyebrows so easy. It definitely makes achieving eyebrows on fleek a lot easier to achieve.

Ah the classic Kate Moss 107. If you're into makeup, or watch a lot of beauty gurus on youtube /read a lot of blogs then you're bound to have heard of Rimmel London's Kate Moss lipstick in shade 107. If not, where have you been all this time? Under a rock?. This is almost every beauty bloggers go to berry shade in the winter, I'm no exception. I too wear this all through the autumn / winter months. It's a gorgeous matte lipstick  that lasts all day and the shade is just perfect. I'm onto my fourth one so far and I can see myself having to repurchase another, and at such an affordable price I have no guilt about doing so. Rimmel, please never discontinue this lip shade, ever.

Next we'll talk about eye products. Some drugstore brands produce the most beautiful eye-shadows and let me tell you there are a lot of dupes for expensive eye palettes in the drugstore. Surprisingly, I actually prefer some drugstore dupes. My all time favourite eye-shadow palette, over riding any high end palettes I own is the Easy On The Eyes palette in Birthday Suit by seventeen. What a palette. This is personally right up my street. It contains 8 gorgeous matte and shimmery eye-shadows, three creamy shadows and a little eye primer - admittedly it isn't that great but the rest of the palette makes up for it. As you can probably tell my go to shade in this palette is Radiant Gold, which is of course the gold shimmery one. I use this on most days when I feel like making more of an effort with my eye makeup, by sweeping it all over my lid. Followed by which ever products I pair it with,  I won't go into a whole eye tutorial now. I love and wear every single shade in this palette, the creamy shadows are a dream to work with. All the shadows blend so easy and are true to colour, their pigmentation is incredible.

Of course I had to include my Maybelline Colour Tattoo in on & on bronze - can you tell I like coppery / gold eye-shadows. It's because I have blue eyes and these colours are really complimentary with blue! This is my go to eye product for parties, it's so gorgeous and the shimmer reflects under the light. This lasts so well, like honestly I sometimes have trouble taking it off, the lasting power is that strong! It doesn't crease either which is a must for eye-shadows when you know you'll be dancing the night away and it will most likely be a hot situation!

If you have any drugstore favourites that you think I might like then don't hesitate to let me know - I'm always on the hunt for new products to try!

Beauty things I suck at♥

Hey beauties.

Today I thought I would share with you all a few beauty things I suck at. Unknown to a lot of people is that us beauty bloggers aren't actually perfect at everything to do with makeup. We just don't like to admit it! We too have those days when we just can't seem to get our eyeliner on fleek or find the motivation to get out of bed to wash our makeup brushes, which in fact was over due a wash two weeks ago. Ssh don't tell anyone I'm that awful at washing brushes. Truth is we are just like you normal folks and are fairly partial to the odd paddy over our make-up when things just aren't going your way.

photo taken from here
Shaping / Filling in my brows | Brows were never a big part of my makeup routine until the whole 'brows on fleek' trend came about a couple of years ago. Until then a bit of clear mascara was good enough for me. However, now brows have become such an iconic part of makeup, and can most definitely either make or break your whole look. To put it nicely my brows most definitely aren't on 'fleek'... I just don't get how you girls do it!

Washing my makeup brushes | I really wish I could be like all those other girls who have the motivation to wash their brushes after every use, or at least have a schedule for when they do them. Now I don't want this to be misinterpreted and you all assume I'm gross and don't wash my brushes at all, I do. Just not all that often. I know, how dirty. But I am trying to get myself into a little routine, I promise!

Applying lip liner | Now I'm all for  a deep berry red at winter time. With this gorgeous lip colour comes the chore of lining my lips with liner. After years of wearing 107 Kate Moss you'd think I'd have the hang of it by now, but in fact I don't. I definitely can't achieve the pouty look I desire.

Moisturising | I'm an oily skin gal. So I find it far too easy to skip the whole moisturising step. Yes I am aware of how important it is, I'm just too lazy. I also despise my skin type so I'm always scared of increasing the oil in my skin. That being said, lately I've gotten better with moisturising and have found some ones that work fab with oily skin!

Paintings my nails | Ugh what a mess. As much as I love nothing more than going and getting a set of acrylics on and having my nails painted a gorgeous colour,  I hate painting my own nails! I can't ever seem to do them neatly, and often end up painting my skin as well my nails. To save myself the stress, I'd much rather pay for somebody to do them for me, at least that way they'll actually look nice!

There a few things I absolutely suck at when it comes to beauty!

Hey beauts. Long time no see. I'm still baffled as to how we seem to be at the start of August already, have I been under a rock whilst this year has flown by? As it's finally summer and in the UK we've been lucky enough to have actually had some sunshine I thought I would start up a little series throughout this summer. I'll be talking about anything I've loved this summer or any favourite memories I want to share. Of course today we'll be starting with makeup.

During summer I'm not one for a full face of makeup, layers of foundation and spending hours correcting my eyeliner. I much prefer a lighter makeup look, because nobody wants to be sat across the table from you at a summer party watching your foundation slip of your face from the sweat. Obviously some people still go all out in summer, which is fine! However personally that isn't for me. This summer I've been trying to clear up my skin, in order to do so I've had a lot of no makeup days, but when I do wear makeup it's quite minimalist. On to the makeup now.

First up, as always the base! Since I've decided to ditch the foundation this summer a base has become more important in my makeup routine than ever. I'm wearing BB creams a lot recently so I need something that will blur my pores and any fine lines to help the BB cream look flawless. I've been using the No7 Airbrush Away primer a lot recently, and I love it! It feels so refreshing on my skin, it hydrates and moisturises, creating the perfect base for your makeup. I never used to think primers were all that important in your makeup routine, and I've had my fair share of trials with a few before and haven't always had much luck. This one is a little more on the pricey side but so worth it, it's become my go to primer!

Finding a decent BB cream has proved to be a lot more difficult than you might think, so many of them literally add nothing to my makeup whatsoever. Although I am looking for something more lightweight on my skin, I still want a bit of coverage and my skin tone to be evened out. Before I went away on holiday last week I popped into Boots on a hunt for a BB cream and I found the Maybelline dream BB fresh. I've loved their products in the past so I thought I'd give it a go. Easy to say I quickly fell in love with the BB cream! In summer I'm all for glowy makeup, exactly what this product gives you! It makes your skin look fresh with a light to medium coverage, and adding a gorgeous natural glow. I never expect much from a BB cream when it comes to coverage but this could be build-able and it does blur any imperfections.

Like I said previously, I'm really digging glowy makeup at the moment, of course it wouldn't be glowy without a highlight! This product isn't your typical highlight and could be used as a blush too. Take my word for it when I say it gives your skin a stunning glow and a bronzed look at the same time! It's of course my Mac Mineralized Skin finish in Light Year, I do believe this product is unfortunately discontinued.  It has a subtle amount of shimmer, and the champagne, bronze and hint of pink all work nicely together to create a stunning natural glow. I often use this as a highlighter, but sometimes I do use it as a blush.

When it comes to eyebrows, lazy is an understatement. I've always struggled with filling and shaping my brows. Recently Benefit released a load of new eyebrow products. They just get brows so right! I received a mini sample of the Goof Prof brow pencil in shade three, I was really excited to give it a go. To say the least it's amazing! It's so easy to use and helps me to fill and shape my eyebrows to perfection. I will definitely be buying the full size. Easy to say it's possibly my favourite brow product I have ever used! Now I'm eager to try out some other brow products from Benefit.

Lastly, by no surprise of course I've been loving a MAC lipstick! Now my usual go to lipstick is Velvet Teddy. I'm coming to the end of that lipstick sadly. So I've decided in order to prolong it's life I would venture into some other MAC lipsticks I own. I've had the shade Brave for a while now, but never really seemed to fussed about it. I put it on the other week and I can't believe I've overlooked it for so long! It's such a stunning shade, it does have a slight hint of a pink undertone which isn't usually my go to lip colour, but because it's so subtle I don't mind it! It's become one of my new favourite lip colours.

That's everything I've been loving for make-up this summer, what products have you been loving this summer?

DISNEYLAND PARIS♥

Hey lovelies!

I'm so excited to be writing this post, I'VE FINALLY BEEN TO DISNEYLAND! After years and years of begging my parents to take me but they never did I finally got a chance to go. My school ran a trip to Disney and of course I went. The journey was long and tiring but so worth it because I had the best day EVER! I wore a huge grin all day, and there was a lot of happy tears. I wanted to put all my favourite photos from Disney into this post so it was little like an online scrapbook for me to look back on. I'm having serious Disney blues and want to be back there right now.

Of course a pair of Minnie ears were purchased and worn all day, I also bought two disney themed tops, I'm currently wearing my olaf one right now whilst listening to the song 'Magic Everywhere' from the parades. I went on the majority of the rides, also queued an awful long time to meet Minnie. The parade was beautiful and gave me goosebumps. I was crying by this point because I became so overwhelmed. I already knew all the words to the song so I could sing along. I thought I saw Ariel coming up in the parade, but it wasn't her :(. I was gutted that I didn't get to meet Ariel but there's always next time! What made this day even more special is the fact that I got to spend it with all my best friends!

Disney Land is exactly what I expected and so much more! It really is a place of happiness, I smiled all day and any stress I was feeling went away. I was just in the moment and having the best time ever. The whole day felt so surreal and didn't fully sink in until I woke up this morning and was looking through all my photos and wearing my Minnie ears. I got home at 4am and fell asleep straight away and woke up this morning wishing I never left. I can't wait to go back another day! But for now I'll carry on sitting in my room watching Disney films and reminiscing over this weekend.

Now for the hefty amount of photos, you can have a little scroll through these if you wish!
